My dad stayed in the UK for nearly a month and a week or so after the wedding, we took a road trip to the west of London. We hit the major sites, starting with Stonehenge. It was surreal to see the first view - from our car window - via the motorway. Also unexpected, Stonehenge is surrounded by farmland and very much in the middle of nowhere. The weather was a bit gloomy but seemed fitting. We hurried to Longleat before closing. Home of Lord Bath and family (D's distant or not so distant relatives) reminded me of all the Stan Hywet tours we took as kids. Dad found a meditation group in Glastonbury - surprise - which he joined early in the morning before we set off for the Tor. Circling back to London we stopped in Bath, by far my favorite city in England thus far. I loved the Georgian architecture and cohesiveness of the stone - all of which was achieved without urban planning! Many scenes of Jane Austen's novels describe life in Bath so I might have to do some reading up before visiting again.
