My younger sister came to visit me this week, her first trip to Asia. We spent a quick 24 hours in Singapore and stayed at The Pod Hotel near Haji Street. For such a short trip, the functionality and efficiency of the pod was great. We shopped the small boutiques of the Arab neighborhood and checked out the art scene. After walking the city all day and seeing Marina Bay, we opted for a one hour reflexology session. And of course, we couldn't leave Singapore without getting some Hainan Chicken Rice at a food centre.
After Singapore, we headed to Ubud, Bali. We stayed in a treehouse with a lovely view and terrace large enough for morning yoga. We made it to the Monkey Forest minutes before closing time thanks to Pak Ketut. We learned to cook Balinese dishes from Ketut's daughter, making entirely too much food. Ketut drove us to tour the rice terraces, elephant cave, luwak coffee plantation and holy water temple before taking us to Seminyak.
